South Korea
Busan day trips, Seoul second-hand markets, and the museums I keep failing to visit
Two trips in, and the thing I would tell anyone going is that the day trips beat the cities. The train network is excellent and it makes the whole country feel close.
Busan
- Jagalchi fish market is fun and worth an hour.
- The most interesting experiences are the day trips around the city. The rail network is excellent, and it puts great hikes and scenic spots within easy reach.
- Gyeongju is the highlight among them.
Seoul
- Several second-hand markets are worth a morning.
- Two shops I go back to: Beauty of Joseon for Korean skincare, and BlueBlack Penshop for stationery.
Still on my list
A museum, any museum. I have managed to visit exactly zero across two trips, which I think says something about how good the day trips are.
